      Â
Talk Therapy is supportive and insight oriented. We will explore your personal strengths and resources. We will honor your journey and the events that have occurred to get you where you are today.
Â
EMDR  is short for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. This technique can help you process upsetting events in your life that seem to have a negative effect on the way you view the world and relate to others. For more information on EMDR, visit the EMDR International Association.

Skills Building can help you learn new ways of thinking and behaving to replace your old coping mechanisms.  We might explore the resources you already have and build new skills on them to help you have more control of your responses.
Â
Body Oriented techniques may include Breathing, Movement, and Emotion/Sensation Tracking. Good communication skills start with commuicating well with yourself! Awareness of your body and listening what it is telling you is an excellent way to improve the most important relationship in your life…your relationship with yourself.
Â
Guided Visualization Our imagination is like a spirited, powerful horse. If it’s untamed, it can be dangerous and run you over. But if you learn to use your imagination in a way that is purposeful and directed, it can be a tremendously powerful vehicle to get you where you want to go, including to better health.
Â
Mindfulness is a way of non-judgmentally focusing your attention in the present moment. You begin by using attention to cultivate calmness and stability, and then you note any thoughts as they occur as best you can and observe them intentionally but nonjudgmentally, moment by moment.
Â
Expressive Art may use a variety of art methods including drawing, painting, sculpture and collage. Whether you are a young child or elderly, if you have experienced emotional trauma, physical violence, domestic abuse, anxiety, depression and other psychological issues, you maybenefit from expressing yourself creatively.
Â
Sand Play is not just for kids! While talking in therapy is very valuable, sometimes there are things that cannot be expressed through verbalization. Another outlet is required for these things. This is where sandplay is so helpful. It allows you to get to express the things you have trouble speaking, or do not even know need to be said.
